          André Breton, a French poet, was one of the pioneers of surrealism.

          Breton was an authoritarian leader who did not tolerate objections, which repelled many of his students due to his tyranny. He was also a physician by profession. Between 1916 and 1924, he participated in one of the most extravagant avant-garde movements - Dada.
