Former BJP state general secretary PP Mukundan passes away
Kochi: Former BJP state general secretary PP Mukundan passed away here on Wednesday. He was 77.
Mukundan breathed his last at a private hospital here.
He had been undergoing treatment for respiratory disease.
Mukundan, who hails from Kannur had a long stint as BJP's national executive member.
He once held the reins of the party in his hands.
Many BJP leaders expressed their grief over the demise of the leader who played a crucial role in Sangh Parivar politics in the state. He is deemed as a predominant strategist of the BJP in Kerala in the period 1980-1990.

Mukundan is the son of the late Krishnan Nair and Kalyaniamma of Kannur Kottiyoor. He studied at the Manathala UP School and Peravoor St Joseph High School.
He became interested in the RSS when in High school and became a Swayamsevak by establishing an RSS
